About Data: The Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas Sinchi and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia Sede Medellín, in parternship with the Unidad de Manejo Especial de Parques Naturales Nacionales and the Center for Tropical Forest Science of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (CTFS), seek to promote the scientific investigation of tropical forests in Amacayacu, Colombia. These institutions oversee and support the continued monitoring of the 25-ha Forest Dynamics Plot in the Amacayacu National Natural Park, Colombian Amazonia.
Our goal is to make the Amacayacu 25-hectare Forest Dynamics Plot data available to researchers and students that can utilize these data to address a wide range of scientific and management questions. However, maintaining the Amacayacu plot requires enormous field effort and an ongoing financial commitment by several parties. We therefore require that the Principal Investigators of the Amacayacu Plot, as well as some specific collaborators designated by the PI’s in certain cases, be considered collaborators on any project making use of the data and be included as co-authors on any articles or presentations, unless they explicitly state otherwise.
