About Data: The Wytham Woods Forest Dynamics Plot, in partnership with Oxford University, Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, Earthwatch Institute, Natural England andthe Forest Global Earth Observatory of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, seeks to promote the scientific investigation of temperate forests. These institutions oversee and support the continued monitoring of the 18-ha forest dynamics plot, located in Wytham Woods—a mixed deciduous, 400-ha forest in southern England.
Our goal is to make the Wytham Woods Forest Dynamics Plot data available to researchers and students that can utilize these data to address a wide range of scientific and management questions. However, maintaining the Wytham Woods plot requires enormous field effort and an ongoing financial commitment by several parties. We therefore require that the Principal Investigators of the Wytham Woods plot be considered collaborators on any project making use of the data and potentially be included as co-authors on any articles or presentations (subject to discussion), unless they explicitly state otherwise.
