About Data:

The Nigerian Montane Forest Project, the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and the Chester Zoo, United Kingdom, in partnership with the Forest Global Earth Observatory of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute seek to promote long-term scientific research towards understanding forest dynamics and demographics, and monitor forest restoration in Nigeria. These institutions oversee and support the continued monitoring of a 20.28-ha plot located within the Ngel Nyaki Forest Reserve on the Mambilla Plateau, Nigeria.

These institutions agree to make the data of the 20.28-ha Ngel-Nyaki plot available to researchers and students that can utilize these data to address a wide range of scientific and management questions. However, maintaining the Ngel-Nyaki plot requires enormous field effort and an ongoing financial commitment by several parties. We therefore require that the Principal Investigators of the Ngel-Nyaki plot and others directly involved in species identification and data management be considered as collaborators on any project making use of the data and be included as co-authors on any articles or presentations, unless they explicitly state otherwise.

Data from the Ngel-Nyaki plot is available for download upon submission of the Data Request Form and a research project description. Fill out the form after reading the Terms and Conditions for Use of the Ngel-Nyaki plot data. Submission of the form indicates your compliance with the terms and conditions described.

A message will automatically be sent to the PIs who will contact you regarding instructions on how to download the data.
