About Data: The Ordway Swisher 23.04-hectare Forest Dynamics Plot is located at the University of Florida’s 3800+ hectare Ordway Swisher Biological Station near Melrose, Florida, USA. The University of Florida, School of Forest Resources and Conservation, in partnership with the Forest Global Earth Observatory of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (ForestGEO) seek to promote long-term scientific research towards the conservation of biological diversity in the United States. These institutions oversee and support the continued monitoring of the 23.04-ha Ordway Swisher Forest Dynamics Plot.
Our goal is to make the Ordway Swisher 23.04-hectare Forest Dynamics Plot data available to researchers and students that can utilize these data to address a wide range of scientific and management questions. Owing to the enormous field effort and ongoing financial commitment, we require that the Principal Investigators of the Ordway Swisher plot be considered collaborators on any project making use of the data and be included as co-authors on any articles or presentations, unless they explicitly state otherwise.
