Our goal is to make the Palamanui Forest Dynamics Plot data available to researchers and students that can utilize these data to address a wide range of scientific and management questions. However, maintaining the Palamanui plot requires enormous field effort and an ongoing financial commitment by several parties. We therefore require that the Principal Investigators of the Palamanui plot be considered collaborators on any project making use of the data and be included as co-authors on any articles or presentations, unless they explicitly state otherwise.

In the sections below, please address the following questions:

1. What personnel would be involved in this study? Include people involved in fieldwork and data analysis. For each person, state his or her affiliation and title.

2. How will your field samples be marked (e.g., flagging tape, tags, etc.) and how will impacts to the forest be minimized? Will flagging, etc. be removed at completion of the study? Please note that rebar is not allowed at this site due to our agreements with the Hawaii Division of Forestry and Wildlife.

3. Will permits from agencies be required? If so, please list agencies. Have these permits been secured?

4. What is the proposed method of travel to the site(s)? (Note: 4wd is required to get directly to the Palamanui forest plot).

5. Describe the expected products and dissemination of this research and who will be involved in creating these products, and expected date of release.
